Church in Spain

The project is to make the church - Sagrada Familia which is in Spain. Following is the brief history about this church.

History
The expiatory church of La Sagrada Família is a work on a grand scale which was begun on 19 March 1882 from a project by the diocesan architect Francisco de Paula del Villar (1828-1901). At the end of 1883 Gaudí was commissioned to carry on the works, a task which he did not abandon until his death in 1926. Since then different architects have continued the work after his original idea.

The building is in the centre of Barcelona, and over the years it has become one of the most universal signs of identity of the city and the country. It is visited by millions of people every year and many more study its architectural and religious content.

Further details can be checked in the link - http://www.sagradafamilia.cat

Following are the pictures of the original church.

Now to my work. Following are the stages with which the church is built.

Step 1

Architecture - This is the Apse which is the east end of the church is semicircular in shape and consists of seven chapels distributed around an ambulatory and the central space with the altar and the presbytery. The are two spiral staircases at each end. It will be crowned by a tower.

Craft - It is made of 25 parts and the star on top alone has 6 parts cut and pasted to it.

Step 2

Craft - The tower is now attached to the bottom portion of the Apse. Now the structure has about 42 parts in all and took 10 hours to make it :-)

Step 3

Architecture - Crossing ans transepts - The transverse nave that links the Nativity façade with the Passion façade is divided into three spaces: the transepts, which connect directly with the two façades, and the crossing, which is the central element and is crowned by five towers.

Craft - This is made of 2o parts. The center tower alone is made of 12 similar parts.

Step 4

Craft - Just paste the Step 3 over Step 4 and glue it right behind the Apse.

Step 5

Craft - This is the part that needs to be pasted on either side of the previously completed part. It has 5 parts each as of now and we need to complete it and then paste it to the part in step 4.

Step 6

Craft - You can stick the part in step 5 and step 6 as shown in the picture. The part has to be stuck on either side of the step 5
.

Step 7
Craft - These are the towers that need to be placed on the stuctures we made in step 5. 4 of them resemble a bird and center one is a cross (in the making)
